The UFO Controversy
Questions about UFO’s can cause much doubt and faithlessness. The very term UFO is an abbreviation which stands for Unidentified Flying Object. So while the term UFO may be neutral (in opinion), it has come more specifically to mean flying saucer; or some space craft from another world.
Does the Bible address this issue? God gave us His truth, preserved perfectly in the King James Bible. All that pertains to us is found within its pages. When it seems that some things are left unsaid, we are then required to believe in faith from all that we do have.
The basis for promoting flying saucers (or UFO’s—I will use these terms interchangeably) is the theory of evolution. It is a theory which states that if the cosmic accident which produced us happened here, it also happened in hundreds of other places throughout the universe. In “Christian” circles, some have speculated that what God did here in creation, He likely did elsewhere as well—perhaps with more success.
In regard to the evolutionists, NO WAY! While this de-bunked theory continues to be pushed, it has never been observed to happen; hundreds of scientific evidences have conclusively proven that it can never happen! Sinful men in “high places” try to cling to this theory, for it is their only hope of avoiding judgment from God. There isn’t really any hope of that, is there? “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God…” Psalms 14:1. For those of you that are still being hoodwinked (deceived) by evolution, you may visit our section concerning this on our website. Better still, visit Evolution-Facts.org for an incredibly thorough examination of false claims and facts. It is plain to me from my studies, that there are no “evolved aliens” visiting planet earth.
As for those believers who have compromised, supposing that God may have created others who are visiting us; NO WAY! If such were the case, our Heavenly Father would have said so—we need to trust Him at His Word (Jesus Christ). And if we do learn to trust every word (Matthew 4:4) He gave us, there is plenty within it to explain UFO phenomena. We need to study God’s Word diligently (II Timothy 2:15, 3:16,17) to find the answers that we need—Jesus wants it to be this way.
Much good insight for this article has come through John Torrell at EAEC.org. The article I refer to is called The Technology Transfer of 1947. I do not agree with many things in this article which are “supposed.” As believers, we need to keep our speculations within the solid framework of truth, which is only the Holy Word of God (KJV). When God doesn’t give us information, we must believe in faith. Many times we try to understand too much, when we are simply to trust. Even with these cautions to you, I would suggest reading the previously mentioned article through the discernment of the Holy Spirit. There is good insight, and it is worth reading.
Ultimately it is the devil which is behind the doubtful alien/UFO controversy. He will do whatever he can do to destroy mankind’s faith in God. Satan was given great power and wisdom from the time he was created as the anointed cherub (Ezekiel 28:12-17); powers that he employs greatly to deceive mankind. Many people are susceptible to illusions created by the devil, and this is a way by which he deceives many in regard to UFOs. Not all of the devil’s deceptions come by made up hallucinations, however! Our enemy lies to us about how to interpret what we see and encounter. This is where our faith in God’s Word (Romans 10:17) gives us firm ground to stand upon (Matthew 7:24,25).
There are many who actually seek encounters with aliens, or “supernatural” beings. These individuals are the most vulnerable to the hallucinations the devil can bring.
One time I watched a very interesting program on UFOs. In it, they featured a person who had filmed regular encounters with “dancing lights” in the sky outside their home. The reporter was not disappointed with his visit. These lights again appeared that night—to the individual who filmed them. Even on this particular evening, the individual saw and filmed these lights in motion—but the reporter could not see them, nor did the film crew pick up anything!
They called it an “unexplained phenomena”, but I could plainly see the deceiving power of Satan. This person’s suggestibility left them open to this kind of attack from the enemy. And because of media coverage others will surely also open up themselves to such an occurrence. It is a spiritual blindness that manifests physically.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. II Corinthians 4:3,4
Perhaps it would surprise you to know that I also have witnessed two UFO sightings: one before being saved, and one after. The first happened at age 11, at a time of many sightings in our area. Astronomy
was a great hobby and passion for me, so it was easy to remain outdoors in hopes of seeing a UFO. This was late October, so it was getting dark pretty early. Just as I was giving up for the night and turned to go in the house, it appeared from behind the tree branches, but its line of travel took it into a clear area for just a few seconds. I have hand sketched the outline for you, so please forgive the imperfect lines. The two lights were white and very bright, and it was through them that I made out the outline of the object.
During the second “sighting,” I was not looking for anything in particular. As part of my astronomy interest I routinely kept track of what planets were visible in the evening skies. I did not always employ my telescope.
Every so often (TV commercials) I would venture outside and enjoy the night. Without any serious thought about things I casually observed 3 planets in the night sky. Planets glow, and stars twinkle. About 2 hours or so after I had begun this casual, part-time observance, I realized that only 2 planets were supposed to be visible! Immediately I went back outside to look. I muttered to myself, “This one (planet) is Jupiter, that one is Saturn: so what is that?” And as I then observed this mystery “planet”, it rose up and moved quickly across the sky and out of sight!
Deceptions with moving lights must be old stuff for the devil, whose pre-fallen name was Lucifer; which means light-bearer. He is also noted to transform into the “angel of light” (II Corinthians 11:14). Manipulation of the element light, therefore, must be almost second nature to him.
Not all UFO sightings can be explained away as only spiritual deceptions. Even in the tangible, physical realm, they are still a ploy of our adversary meant to deceive us about their true nature.
Beyond all doubt, there is really just one (count them; one) so called “close encounter” which defies explanation. That is the incident at Roswell, New Mexico, USA. This was a supposed crash of an alien spacecraft, and it occurred in 1947. The contents of that crash were supposedly removed to another government facility in Nevada, known as Area 51.
On board this UFO were 4 “aliens;” 2 died immediately, 1 died shortly after discovery, and 1 survived. This last living creature is supposedly in hiding at yet another government facility; passing along new technology to mankind, and occasionally meeting with world leaders in helping to “shape earth” for the future.
If all this seems incredible, and causes you to shake your head in wonder or disbelief, that is a natural and correct reaction! But what if you discovered that all, or parts of this story were true? Though I myself hadn’t thought the stories of Roswell credible, there is far too much evidence and legitimate testimony to discount it. Sources that I trust are certain that this incident did happen, and this means it was related to me by true followers of Jesus Christ.
You may want to tune out the rest of this article in disbelief; I would understand. But I believe that the Bible covers this possibility (Roswell incident) very well! So if you will pray and stay tuned, you may learn answers that will help you to respond when challenged by this issue. It will deepen your faith, and ground you even more solidly on the rock of Jesus’ Words.
Most of us are aware of the appearance of these so-called “Aliens.” They usually are shown to have a fairly small, thin body with a large, somewhat triangular head and huge eyes. But if they are not true aliens, what are they?
We really know very little about the pre-Flood world, in terms of specifics. We know the earth was “filled with violence” and that “all flesh had corrupted his way” (Genesis 6:11-13), but we are not given a list of the specific sins—though they are clearly implied. Genesis 6:1-5 provides insight as to what led to the proliferation of evil on the earth, before which it was judged and condemned. These verses reveal an inventive evil which can explain the possibility of the existence of so-called “aliens.”
And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 6:1-5
There are two references here to the sons of God; this is an early term used to describe angelic beings, or the heavenly host. The difference here is plain, because the Word of God states “sons of God” came in to the “daughters of men.” Job 1:6 & 2:1 affirm that the sons of God referred to are angelic beings given the context of the passage. Of course, the sons of God in Genesis 6 are devils; fallen angels.
In verse 2 it states that the sons of God freely chose wives of the daughters of men. God responds to this revelation in verse 3; “My spirit shall not always strive with man…” and provides an initial prophecy for earth’s upcoming destruction through the Flood.
Verse 4 comes back to this unholy union of devils and mankind, and reveals that the offspring of these were “men of renown,” and “mighty men.” These unholy marriages were permitted and approved by mankind; resulting in greater and greater wickedness for the earth. This I say because verse 4 leads into verse 5 “…the wickedness of man was great…the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.”
So at the very least, the marriages between mankind and the fallen angels had a major responsibility in making the world so evil that it had to be destroyed.
How is it possible for an angel to marry a human, let alone have children together? God’s Word tells us that this should not be.
For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Matthew 22:30
For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. Mark 12:25
And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Luke 20:34-36
We see then that angels and humans differ greatly in their forms they exist in. Angels and resurrected humans do not marry, and therefore no children are produced (a main purpose of marriage). So what was happening back before the Flood, in the account of Genesis 6:1-5? The answer is that Satan found a way for inter-breeding with mankind!
Ezekiel 28:12-17 tells us about numerous characteristics that the “anointed cherub” was created with—powers, talents, abilities. He simply had all the best traits that God could place within a being; his anointing was not revoked, and his great intelligence and wisdom make him an adversary that we could in no way overcome—were it not for the blood of Jesus Christ! Because of our savior, we are overwhelming conquerors (Romans 8:37). And of course, the devil is very old. We have no exact age, but those sons of God were present when God performed the creation in Genesis 1 (see Job 38:7).
This, then, is the hypothesis; the creatures we now view as “aliens” are really a hybrid human being; perhaps an imperfect clone, without soul or spirit. Yet a creature a devil may fully inhabit, which is physically able to have intercourse with women. It is something that seems incredible, and we do not often consider it. Yet from all the scripture we have, something along those lines occurred—and it seems to have escalated the evils which led to earth’s destruction through the Flood.
There has come to my attention yet another suggested way that devils interbred with humans; through the succubus and incubus. A succubus is a devil that assumes the shape of a sexually desirable woman; the incubus is the male counterpart to this. It is speculated that a succubus would seduce a man, and then have human seed in its possession. This seed would then be given to an incubus, which would impregnate a woman. The resulting offspring would then be a type of hybrid human, carrying the “taint” of a fallen angel. I found this theory reported by William Schnoebelen, while reading Blood on the Doorposts. I also found that it had been suggested by Thomas Aquinos back in the 13th century! We really cannot understand the way in which it happened, but the scripture testifies that it did.
Then of course there is still the spacecraft (UFO) issue. Where did these come from, and who made them? Please see our Origin of Sin and Satan section for more, but I will offer brief highlights to complete the ideas here.
First of all, there has been only one (count them—one) “encounter” that is nearly beyond dispute; that of the one at Roswell. Any other sightings of UFOS are highly questionable. It is even very likely that other craft, like the one at Roswell, were built and tested secretly; as we then employed the new technology available, and tried to mimic it.
When the earth, the universe, and mankind were created, the heavenly host (sons of God) was already old. Satan had been created as Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12), or the anointed cherub that covereth (Ezekiel 28:14). He was the best of God’s creation, and has great intelligence and wisdom. Lucifer had not yet rebelled (Revelation 12:3-8, Luke 10:18) against God. And while man had been given dominion over the earth with all its creatures, no mention is made concerning the rest of the universe. With all the minions of heaven, I think it likely that the rest of the universe was provided for them. The Bible does not say this directly: but after creating it all as He (Jesus) did, why was only the earth given to man (Genesis 1:27-30), and what about everything else? I just want to make it clear that I am speculating when I say that the heavenly host was given all of space outside of the earth. It is presented as a possibility, given what we know by God’s Word. According to this theory, the angels then would have created spacecraft to travel in between the stars and planets. They would be explorers of God’s vast creation, building and inventing with the materials God provided. Spiritual beings, they would be naturally inclined and able to harness invisible energy sources such as magnetism, electricity, and radio waves.
There is some physical evidence to support this reasoning. It is certain that there are other energy sources beyond our current awareness, and that they were known of thousands of years ago. The existence of pyramids suggests this. Based on what we know, they should not have been able to be built by man long ago. Of course, offspring from the union of women and devils likely contributed to many of these “marvels.”
Those large drawings high in the plains of South America are also hard to imagine without the coordination from an aircraft above. But there weren’t any back then, right? Even so, there would then need to be some way to communicate from the air to the ground—like a radio!
Many of us have seen that picture of a face on a mountain on the planet Mars. Just an accidental formation? John Torrell (EAEC.org) speculates that it was created by an angelic civilization, which then suffered the destructive effects from the war of rebellion which Satan led. I say in faith, that it is unknowable with certainty. We do know our faithful creator, and can trust Him for our best!
Ezekiel chapter one is often referred to as a visit from a spacecraft. Even if that is true, it came from God in heaven. There may have been things in this vision which men have seldom been privy to: but God revealed it to Ezekiel, and it made quite an impression! It is also fair to say that we do not know of all that God had created before Genesis chapter one. And if the heavenly host were inventing and building, we have no way of knowing all that they did. It couldn’t all be bad; for there were twice as many angels that remained loyal to God compared to those which rebelled!
Another question that could arise is why would the angels build spaceships? With their traveling capabilities, it would seem unnecessary. Yet the answer to this is very obvious and easy; they did it because it was there!
Why fly, when you can ride? A child wonders what they can build with all those blocks. Many times things are done, just to see if they can be—not because it is easy, or convenient. A man crosses the ocean in a small sailboat, a boy uses a potato electrically to create light; two sticks can make fire without a match. The examples could go on forever! God’s creation creates. More accurately, we invent, assemble, manipulate. We get this creative instinct from our Heavenly Father!
Also, how smart was early man? Adam was created as a grown adult, and able to speak and think. If you add onto that 930 years of life, how much could you learn? Humans were long-lived in those days—couple that with the ancient wisdom of the heavenly host, and the results could be pretty spectacular; or terrible, because of sin.
So God destroyed the earth and mankind in the Flood, except for Noah and his family. The unholy offspring of devils were also destroyed, but the devils themselves continued to exist. More evil was developing at Babel after the Flood (Genesis 11:1-9). No doubt some of the old know-how was still being used (Noah lived to be 950) in the building of the tower. God then confused mankind’s languages, and scattered them around the world. I personally believe that this is also when the different races were established.
Before Lucifer’s (Satan) rebellion against God, the angelic host and mankind co-existed without sin. No specific amount of time is given for this, but it would have likely been about 100 years. Satan rebelled against God, and mankind fell into sin, and began an unholy affiliation with the fallen angels. The total years from creation to the Flood are about 1,600.
Much know-how was then lost with the Flood, along with the offspring of devils. Then the portion of technical knowledge remaining was nearly destroyed altogether, at the tower of Babel.
The theory which John Torrell promotes is that the “UFO” crash at Roswell (1947) was a technology transfer. I can readily agree with this assessment of the Roswell incident.
The ancient know-how of angels and early mankind was being forwarded to us at a time when we again had developed to where we can apply it. This technology is needed by Satan for the antichrist’s takeover of the world.
“Benefits” brought to us by this transfer include spaceflight (devils may no longer do this: God’s judgment), computers, cell phones, TV, cameras, microchips, and many electronic tracking devices. All of this will again unite mankind, like back at Babel: making the world far easier to control.
Through the Jesuit Order, Satan has been establishing organizations that work feverishly behind the scenes, to bring about a one-world governing body. Who will the “beast” turn out to be? We know that he is among us right now, waiting to be revealed. New-agers say that their savior, Maitreya, is now among us and will soon be revealed. Is it also possible that the antichrist will pose as this supposed “alien” from the Roswell crash? I hate to even think of this, but I believe I should warn you about the possibility. Remember that we true followers of Christ will not be raptured before antichrist comes into power; therefore we must be able to discern who he is, to avoid deception. Here are some possible reasons why the antichrist might use this alleged “alien.”
1) It ties in Evolution. Even now, many evolutionists are claiming that life here came from outer space. It doesn’t really solve the origin of life issue; but after 150 years of scientific testing, it is clear that evolution never happened on the earth—and cannot.
2) It could be Maitreya, the new-age savior. Though this being is different from us, it will still be humanoid. Maitreya is supposed to be a highly “evolved” human, meant to help mankind in their “evolutionary” development. Perhaps he will claim this lie.
3) No nationality prejudice. Without any perceivable ethnic association, this being would appear to be without favoritism in world governing policies. This would ease resistant suspicion.
4) No human soul to deceive or overcome. When Satan takes hold of the antichrist, he will not be hindered by a personality, or upbringing beliefs that would hinder. It would also be merciful on God’s part, by not allowing a person to be “sacrificed” to Satanic possession.
5) He returned in the clouds, just like scripture says. But if you know the Bible, be aware that there is other criteria which accompany Christ’s return—everyone will see Him, and mourn.
6) No religious affiliation would work quite favorably. “It” will not be a prophet from any one specific faith, which will also promote trust.
Yet the two greatest points promoting the antichrist will be peace and miracles. No matter who or what he turns out to be, the world will be deceived. In a war ravaged world, he will bring a seemingly lasting peace (Daniel 8:25, I Thessalonians 4:3). It is my thought (not necessarily God’s) that the antichrist will reveal himself and bring peace to the world, stopping World War III (Revelation 9:13-19). He will also do many, many miracles for all to see. Probably the greatest and most convincing will be the mortal head wound that is healed (Revelation 13:3); probably from an assassination attempt by a doubter. There will be many miracles by the devil at this time, and it is nearly upon us (Revelation 13:13,14) (II Thessalonians 2:9,10). As believers, we need to put down deep roots into the solid rock of our salvation, that we be not taken in by these deceptions. We will be an extreme minority; but we are without excuse, for we have been warned in advance.
It is hard for me to believe that the world could be taken in by such an obvious hoax; I am truly merely putting forth the possibility. Yet Satan’s power to deceive is incredible, and growing stronger every day. If we true followers of Christ can see through these things, it is because we have the mind of Christ (I Corinthians 2:16); sound minds (II Timothy 1:7); the Word (Hebrews 4:12); and the Holy Spirit to guide us (John 16:13). Let us live thankfully for this, and use all the resources which God has provided. And hopefully this article, through the Holy Spirit, will strengthen you when facing the disbelief of our present day.

Major doctrinal changes have occurred, which will tend to bring doubt and destroy your faith. Satan means to deceive you into sincerely following his alternate “truth.” You are really being set up to fall, and serve the antichrist.
