Christ and the Homosexual

The homosexual controversy has been a growing issue within the United States. Same sex marriages are at the forefront of the debate. The appointment of a homosexual bishop in a major denomination has caused a great fallout within that particular branch of the organized church.

Why do professing Christians struggle so much over this topic? Although squirm might be more accurately descriptive! Questions arise, such as 1) Aren’t Christians to love and accept everyone equally? 2) Many homosexuals are respectable and learned—how can it be bad? 3) Why should I alienate close friends and relatives because of their “preference”? 4) Some great church leaders support it, and they know the Bible—who am I to question them?

The underlying factors which promote this difficulty are 1) The rejection of God’s true Word as our final authority. 2) Inviting the world into the church. 3) Undo respect of persons. 4) Limited knowledge of the Word of God. 5) The love of money.

Organized churches of today (not all; but nearly all) are in harmony with the “love gospel” of the New Age Movement. As a result, professing believers within these churches misunderstand the true Bible teaching about loving one another, and God’s love for us. To understand the nature of love as represented in the Bible will clarify many issues.

First of all, the great admonitions to “love one another” are directed to the church of Christ. We cannot have fellowship with darkness (see II Corinthians 6:14,15; Ephesians 5:11). Though we are admonished to love our enemies (Matthew 5:44), this type of love is reflected in our treatment of these foes (materially); and in the spiritual concern for their eternal salvation. To not realize and practice these truths reflects the cancer of the new bible versions, which have ravaged the body of Christ. Church leaders continue to rip apart God’s Word; continually adding and diminishing (Deuteronomy 4:2) from the truths given to us through the Holy Spirit.

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. II Peter 1:20,21

Believe God’s Word above all else as the authority in your life—all your questions will be answered!

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. II Timothy 3:16,17

Sexual corruption is rampant in our time—having multiplied greatly, even as mankind has increased over the face of the earth. Churches continually invite all people within their walls, and have stepped back into the sinful corruption they claim to have escaped! Remember that Jesus instructed His disciples to go into the world and preach salvation—then those saved would come into the church (the true church; Christ’s spiritual body). Today it is common and encouraged for churches to become more like the world to attract crowds!

This was a well learned lesson in my own life. Some may say that worldly separation is “snobby,” but God’s Word holds it to be true. For many years I straddled the fence, hoping not to be “so heavenly-minded, that I am no earthly good.” It doesn’t work. The carnal nature kept pulling me back into sin. Mankind’s natural inclination is to sinfully rebel—we cannot save ourselves, and don’t even want to!

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. II Corinthians 5:17

Salvation through Christ brings a change! This is what Jesus offers mankind, not an opportunity to be saved while continuing in sin.

The homosexual will often contend that his is a real love—it may even seem believable, to the spiritually undiscerning. In truth, our culture has promoted sex as the highest form of love—it is not. Sex outside of what God intended is only gratification of the flesh. Great love between women or men in Christ is possible, but it is never sexual! This reasoning comes from the world around us, not Jesus Christ.

Respect of persons hurts us in this issue in two ways; 1) Educated leaders and 2) Friends and family.

God’s Word warns us over and over about false religious teachings, admonishing us to “try the spirits.” One who has risen to the top of his/her church, has done so through earthly esteem.

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. Luke 16:15

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

II Corinthians 11:14,15

These last days have an abundance of false Christs, false churches, and false religions. If these leaders are not following the Word of God, reject them! (see Titus 3:10,11; II John 9-11)

It can be difficult to take a stand with friends or family, but we must. We are warned of this through passages such as are found in Matthew 10:32-39:

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.  And a man's foes shall be they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. Matthew 10:32-39

Such ones you may continue to hold in prayer, but God does not want you granting approval of this corrupt lifestyle. Honestly, the same could be said regarding any sexual relationship outside of marriage.

Knowing God’s Word is always your best weapon in this fight. Return now to the King James Bible, and study all it has to say on the matter. Too many professing Christians are unprepared for the assaults on God’s Word regarding this topic. In truth, scripture has much to say on homosexuality—it is not merely an isolated passage or two.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. Genesis 2:18-24

As we can see from the beginning, God created woman for the man’s companionship. It was this combination that multiplied and replenished the earth. Why not man and man, or woman and woman? Some might contend for the advantages of an all male or female society; though it is to their shame to question our holy creator in this matter.

Evolutionists also have a problem with this arrangement, for the need of a creature for a companion creature to reproduce makes their theory all the more impossible. And yes, it is a nearly universal male and female combination throughout the animal kingdom. Therefore even nature testifies to the truth regarding homosexuality!

If that weren’t enough, Jesus takes the time to make the point during His physical, earthly ministry.

And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. Matthew 19:4-6

It doesn’t get much clearer than this—God made male and female, and those two would be joined in marriage. We are to follow every word of God, so how many times must He say it?

Since it is clear that marriage is between a man and woman all scripture references to adultery or fornication apply to homosexuality as well. It is a sexual act outside the God-given framework of marriage. And though all fornication is sin, homosexuality is distinguished as a greater evil. Sodom and Gomorrah is the Biblical example regarding homosexuality that nearly everyone is familiar with. The example (bad) that these cities set goes far beyond the moment of their annihilation.

Lot first moves toward these cities in Genesis 13. His main regard was for his cattle, and this plain of the river Jordan had abundant natural resources. Even at this first mention, however, there was caution…

But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly. Genesis 13:13

Chapter 14 of Genesis gives a record of Abram’s (Abraham) assistance to the Kings of Sodom and Gomorrah in a time of conflict. This he did for Lot and his family, who were among the captives.

Our earthly spiritual father, Abraham, would take no reward from these kings. He wanted no association with their evil name.

And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich: Genesis 14:22,23

By Genesis chapter 18 we read this in the Lord’s communication with Abraham:

And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. Genesis 18:20,21

In the rest of this chapter is recorded Abraham’s bargaining with the Lord on behalf of these cities. The Lord agrees that if He finds ten that are righteous, He will not destroy Sodom and Gomorrah.

Many deliberately disregard the example of Sodom and Gomorrah. They want their God to be one only of love and mercy, not holiness. Consider this:  though God did not find ten righteous, He still saved Lot and his family! These few righteous that remained were especially reached to by God in His mercy. And realize that Lot did walk uprightly with God—he was not spared only because of his relationship to Abraham (see II Peter 2:6-8).

Also, our merciful God does not obliterate city after city. He would rather use strong examples, and have us walk in faith. I believe that God does periodically still bring judgment to certain cities. Was Hurricane Katrina a judgment upon New Orleans? The evil corruption surrounding the Mardi Gras is legendary—as is the “gay” parade of 100,000 strong. It would seem that numerous other cities deserve judgment at least as much, yet they still remain. God’s purposes and timing are His own. Ultimately the whole world will rebel against God and be judged.

The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah is recorded in Genesis 19. God sends two angels to bring Lot and his loved ones out of the city. Verse five records the intent of the men of Sodom to rape the angels that entered into Lot’s house. Verse nine likewise shows their intent to do the same to Lot, for trying to stop them. These men were so vile, that they refused Lot’s virgin daughters in favor of homosexual intercourse! (This example shows heterosexual fornication to be not as evil as homosexual; one is natural, the other unnatural affection)

Although these cities were shown to be greatly wicked, the only specific sin shown is homosexuality! There were likely many others, but God makes a strong statement against this kind of evil by recording it this way. Sodom and Gomorrah are an example used throughout scripture as examples of wickedness and God’s judgment.

But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them. And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof. And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to break the door. But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut to the door. And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door. And the men said unto Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place: For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it….Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. Genesis 19:4-13…24,25

After Genesis 19, a quick count shows twenty other passages referencing Sodom as greatly evil, and comparing other evils to it. Sodom and Gomorrah became a Biblical yardstick for measuring iniquity! Sodomites are referred to another five times after that. Even today, sodomy and sodomized are terms we use legally in reference to deviant sexual behavior. Let’s look a bit more closely…

Sod' õm·y:  Any sexual intercourse regarded as abnormal, as between persons of the same sex, especially males, or between a person and an animal. This is the definition in my Webster’s dictionary, with the city of Sodom being the root word it is built upon.

There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel. Deuteronomy 23:17

And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. Isaiah 13:19

I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah. Jeremiah 23:14

Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

Ezekiel 16:49,50

And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. Mark 6:11

And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; II Peter 2:6

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 7

            See also Deuteronomy 29:23, 32:31,32; Isaiah 1:9,10, 3:9; Jeremiah 49:18, 50:40; Lamentations 4:6; Amos 4:11; Zephaniah 2:9; Matthew 10:15, 11:23,24; Luke 10:12; Romans 9:29. Further referrals to sodomites are found in I Kings 14:24, 15:11, 12, 22:46; II Kings 23:7.

Perversion after perversion has come about by adding to God’s Word, in an attempt to justify sinful behavior. One such lie is the claim that David had a homosexual relationship with his friend Jonathon. The Bible plainly shows otherwise.

We read of this affection in I Samuel 19:2, and 20:17. This was a deep, pure love of friendship. Today’s thinking considers sex to be the highest form of love. The truth is that there are numerous types of strong love which are not sexual! The spiritual blindness Satan has brought to the world (II Corinthians 4:4) has convinced many that love and sex are synonymous. All television and other media push this lie in order to convince us. Be sanctified through God’s Word (Jesus)—it alone is true.

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. John 17:17

As Jonathan and David parted company, they did so with holy kisses (I Samuel 20:41). Even today, greeting/parting kisses of friendship are commonplace among many in the world. It was also so with David and Jonathon. In the New Testament as well, it was encouraged as a common greeting among God’s people. (see Romans 16:16; I Corinthians 16:20; II Corinthians 13:12; I Thessalonians 5:26; I Peter 5:14)

            The relationship closes with Jonathon’s death in battle. II Samuel 1:26 finds David lamenting;

I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: very pleasant hast thou been unto me: thy love to me was wonderful, passing the love of women. II Samuel 1:26

“Passing the love of women” cannot be a sexual reference! If it were, it would still be the same as with women. I believe it was the Holy Spirit which closely knit these two together, leading Israel at this crucial turning point in their history.

            Our last evidence against this perverse teaching is found in I Kings 15:5;

Because David did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and turned not aside from any thing that he commanded him all the days of his life, save only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite. I Kings 15:5

As we are seeing through God’s microscope, homosexuality is a great evil. Therefore we know it was not in David’s life, for the preceding verse tells us that he fell only in one matter—that of Uriah the Hittite (adultery, murder).

Such terrible perversions of the Word are many. They can only come about, however, by adding men’s understanding to the words God preserved. When you take the Word as God intended, with diligent study, you will be free from any misunderstanding.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:31,32

Even though our Lord strongly uses the example of Sodom, and plainly shows marriage to be between a man and woman, He does not stop there:  More instruction does follow it up.

Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people. Therefore shall ye keep mine ordinance, that ye commit not any one of these abominable customs, which were committed before you, and that ye defile not yourselves therein: I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 18:22-30

Within this passage, we find plain instruction regarding sodomy. Yet God shows us that in disobeying Him a curse will come upon the land. Do you wonder why we have floods, fire, famine, and earthquakes? Has not our land been defiled by homosexuality and other sexual perversions? This scripture is not an isolated verse, but an extensive warning from our creator.

When we read the first twenty verses in Leviticus 18, we find a detailed description of various improper sexual relations—and note that it is always between male and female! Why? Because those sins would be more common, stemming from natural affection. Our Lord makes it clear that every homosexual relationship is vile in His eyes. There is another list of inappropriate (sinful) sexual relations in Leviticus chapter twenty. Adultery is clearly addressed dozens of times throughout scripture, and powerfully through the Ten Commandments (see Exodus 20, Deuteronomy 5). More evil relations are posted in Exodus 22:19 and Deuteronomy 27:20-23.

Another example is given in Judges as well…

Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him. And the man, the master of the house, went out unto them, and said unto them, Nay, my brethren, nay, I pray you, do not so wickedly; seeing that this man is come into mine house, do not this folly. Behold, here is my daughter a maiden, and his concubine; them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing. But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go. Judges 19:22-25

Here again, homosexuality is being regarded as an evil greater than heterosexual rape! Yet we can also see that homosexuality is an extreme of all sexual perversions—which is any intercourse outside of marriage as God directs it through His Word (Jesus). When we read on about this in Judges, God powerfully rebuked the tribe of Benjamin and Israel for this sin.

We find more addressing this matter in the New Testament as well. Through the Holy Spirit, Paul gives a testimony about what he was seeing in the Roman Empire—which is also a prophecy for the last days that are now upon us.

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. Romans 1:21-32

More prophecy is given through Paul in II Timothy 3:1-5

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. II Timothy 3:1-5

The issue of homosexuality is clearly shown in God’s Word, so that there is nothing to debate. For the “falling away” of the organized church in these last days, the issue is debated because they have rejected God’s Word (KJV) in favor of another gospel (new versions espoused by New Age leaders like Rick Warren). These new versions steal faith by having a foundation laid in sand, and not in stone (Matthew 7:24-27).

Our (true believers) real concern lies in how to treat the homosexual. We must be firm in our stand to uphold God’s laws, while yet realizing that our Lord longs to save everyone (II Peter 3:9). Many have compromised their faith (denying Christ) in order to “get along” with friends or relatives that may be homosexual.

It has always been improper for churches to display “everyone welcome” signs for their services. Believers were to go into the world and preach; then those converted would return with them to be a part of the church. The true church is a spiritual body, not a man-made building of earthly material. By making “all welcome,” every kind of ungodly corruption has crept into the churches, including homosexuality. Today churches pride themselves in showing how much they are just like the rest of the world! What happened to “walking in the spirit,” being a “new creature,” having “the mind of Christ,” or “coming out from among them” to be separate?

Thankfully, numerous churches have taken a stand regarding this issue. Most, however, are still on treacherous ground—having still thrown out God’s Word regarding most of their practices. Yet perhaps a stance over this issue can lead many into greater obedience, and a return to holiness—before it is finally too late.

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5:11

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. II Corinthians 6:14-18

This insert seemed like it may be a good example of what Christians can face, and is being added in July, 2011.

Recently, New York State passed a law approving same-sex marriages. Headlines and news articles were then all over this topic on Google News. An article that came up was entitled, Confessions of a Gay Christian Country Singer. I decided to read it, and now am sharing some of what I saw, with God’s discernment.

First of all, as Christians, we should try not to use the term “gay.” It is accurate to say homosexual; this means same-sex relations, it isn’t derogatory. “Gay” simply means to be happy, and it is an attempt by Satan to portray homosexuality as a good thing. Let’s call it what it is!

The woman (lesbian) wrote in her article; “I came to know God during the first decade of my life, and I was raised in a Christian home… At age 9 I discovered I was gay (her words).” Then she begins to lament over what a hard, tough road she faced as a homosexual in her circumstances. How she struggled to please everyone, and denied herself “love” because of others’ opinions.

She says that finally “God told her” to simply be herself, and to share her story with the world, to encourage others (coming out of the “closet” at age 39). Then she had great peace, she claims! She stated how many people think that homosexuals are godless people, when in fact many believe in God. There are a few things I would like to point out, question, and provide another opinion for.

1) She was never a Christian; she was raised in a Christian home. Where is the testimony of salvation in Christ? Why is there no more specific time frame for her “getting to know” God? Satan has convinced her to describe herself by the adjective “Christian” in order to confuse believers. A simple review of her testimony shows what is true.

2) How did she “discover” her sexuality at age nine? What kind of perversions was she engaged in, or had forced upon her? Did she learn it at school? Age 9 is easily below sexual maturity age, so there is a real problem with this “discovery.”

3) Lots of people believe in God; the devils believe in God! To have a belief in God means absolutely nothing. In truth, she has become her own god. She rejects Christ because she knows that Christians regard homosexuality as a sin, and she did not want that.

4) All those years of living in misery were due to her rebellion against Jesus Christ. She needed to repent, and receive Christ as her savior, but she would not—there was a sin she was embracing within herself which she would not repent of. When she finally came to the point of peace, and the supposed commissioning from God to “come out” and tell her story, was when the Lord finally gave up trying. Even as has already been shown in Romans chapter one, God gave her over to a reprobate mind. This was also foretold to be strong delusion (II Thessalonians 2:9-12).

Satan’s power is real, and is growing exponentially as we move closer to the end of time as we know it. Do not be taken in by testimonies which seem to be reasonable, but in reality deny God’s Word.

How you decide to specifically treat a homosexual loved one is a matter between you and almighty God. Yet you must still stand for the Lord—too much “unconditional” acceptance often gives the impression of approval of their actions! You are best off addressing such concerns for them in prayer. Remember that salvation is only possible through God (Mark 10:27); and that we have been warned not to allow relationships to interfere with our Christian walk (Luke 14:26).

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:26

Certainly, few churches will tear down their “everyone welcome” sign. Still, by preaching the true Word and standing upon it, the truth will be known. Pastors should not be shaping their sermons to remain inoffensive to the congregation. Let us take seriously our admonishments from the perfect Word of God (see Word of God section)!

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. II Timothy 4:2-5

WARNING:  To avoid Satan’s snares and deceptions, return to the pure Word of God; which is the King James Bible. Revised translations are not small word alterations meant to bring clarity! Major doctrinal changes have occurred, which will tend to bring doubt and destroy your faith. To follow these new “versions” of the truth, is to build your spiritual house upon sand, and become as the ones reflected in Matthew 7:21-23. Please use this entire passage, Matthew 7:21-27.

Satan means to deceive you into sincerely following his alternate “truth.” You are really being set up to fall, and serve the antichrist.

Pray and seek God diligently in this matter; for time is short. See also our Word of God section and the section on A Sure Salvation vs. Eternal Security.
